My Keepsake is Strong Kachina

$399.00
sold out

This piece is part of the No More Stolen Sisters series. Inspired by the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement, the My Keepsake is Strong Kachina is made predominately from salvaged metal.

A vaguely anthropomorphic image, plasma cut by hand, emerges from the rusted steel. Repurposed motor lamination sheets form the winged arms. A section of flattened and distressed copper tubing adds further visual interest. The resin head features a red hand, the symbol of the MMIW cause, set against the backdrop of stars in the night sky.

Dimensions:

19 inches tall

8.25 inches wide

This marriage of rustic and fine art makes a strong statement to any home. Half of the net profits from this sale go to Native Hope (nativehope.org) and Native Women Running (nativewomenrunning.com).
